Memorial United Methodist ChurchMemorial UMC Prayer Shawl Ministry, aka, "The Knit Wits"
We have just formed a new group of yarn ministry. We make shawls, hats, scarves, sweaters, or other items that may be used to comfort people in need. The recipients of these items are in need of prayer and these homemade items are a constant reminder to those using them that they are being prayed for.
While items are being knit or crocheted, they are being prayer over by the person and group making the items. After the shawls, sweaters, scarves, etc. are made, they are dedicated on the church altar on Sunday mornings by the pastors and congregation. They are then selected for distribution and give to those in need of prayer. This is our way of showing extravagant generosity to those hurting, ill, or in need.
Meeting Times:
1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, 1:00-3:00 pm
2nd and 4th Thursday of the month, 5:00-7:00 pm
